Alex Colthart
Founder & Creative Director

Alex lives, breathes and sleeps full-circle digital marketing efforts. A visual storyteller at heart, Alex began his journey into the world of marketing by way of the video production industry. Even as a young kid growing up in a small town in the outskirts of GTA, he knew that the written word was not his ultimate jam – so he turned to video. It gave him a way to express himself and pull together a narrative in a way that he had never experienced before and he never looked back. 

With 20 years of building video content for brands like RedBull, Jaguar Canada, Unicef, Home Hardware, Landrover Canada, BMW Motorrad Canada, Sheridan College and Canadian Tire, Alex is at the helm of every project that comes through the doors of Forty Four.

Alex started his career in the film and television industry and worked his way up the industry ladder to become a producer and director for commercial and music video productions – that is, until Forty Four was born.

While his love for the production industry never waned, he couldn’t help but note the break in  communication between creative agency, production team and digital marketing agency. He knew there had to be a way for small and medium-sized businesses to make one phone
call and have access to a team of experts to help build their brand, craft authentic content and attract the right audience. So he created it himself.

And he spends his days making that dream a reality. His passion lies in helping small and medium-sized businesses amplify their voice, and accelerate their growth with custom-made marketing strategies and a pool of next-level creatives to draw from.
